Description:
Prep Cook (Part Time 6:00am-2:30pm )
The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in preparation of food and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures. As Prep Cook, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
Assists cook with meal preparation. Serve and prepare food that is palatable and appetizing in accordance with established portion control procedures, therapeutic diet needs, standardized recipes, special diet needs. Make only authorized food substitutions. Serves food in dining room as instructed.
Assists in food preparation for special meals, for parties, etc.
Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available. Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc., as necessary. Inform supervisor of supply needs.
Handle and prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations and TSLC established policies and procedures.
Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.
