ENGIE North America Inc. Sr DevOps Engineer in Spokane, Washington

SR. DEV OPS ENGINEER REMOTE : ANYWHERE WEST COAST PREFERRABLE ( PST) This is a senior technical role at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability and software delivery. It entails ensuring seamless operations, enhancing system reliability and accelerating software deployment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, automating processes and driving continuous improvement are expected. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, deploy and maintain robust infrastructure components leveraging infrastructure as code (i.e. Terraform) in the provisioning and management of resources where appropriate Optimize infrastructure resource allocation, scalability and fault tolerance. Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual intervention Set up monitoring tools to track system health Define and measure service-level indicators and service-level objectives Monitor application performance, latency and resource utilization Create actionable alerts and dashboards Automate incident response, monitoring and alerting Implement security best practices across the infrastructure stack Implement security controls, vulnerability assessment and access management Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to manage resources Optimize cost and performance in cloud environments Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline for efficient software delivery Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing and deployment Champion a culture of continuous integration, delivery and improvement Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other DevOps Engineers Bridge gaps between development, operations and other teams Communicate technical insights effectively to stakeholders Foster a culture of knowledge sharing Be an active contributor in the DevOps Community of Practice Ensure compliance with industry standards (GDPR, SOC 1, etc.) Diagnose and develop fixes to implement quickly and efficiently for production incidents Lead issue triage process for client support Serve as technical focal point for client success teams Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Education/ Certifications/ Experience Bachelor's Degree required in one of the following fields; computer science or related field Master's Degree preferred in one of the following fields; computer science or related field Azure/AWS Certifications preferred Minimum 7 years of experience in Information Technology At least 7 years of systems engineering, software engineering or DevOps engineering experience Advanced knowledge and expertise in DevOps practices Advanced experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Git, Chef, Puppet, and Ansible Advanced experience with vulnerability scanners and remediation. Expert with cloud services (AWS or Azure) Advance experience with containerization Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory Advance experience with VMWare, Enterprise Class Servers and Storage Experience with ISO/SSAE16/NIST or equivalent compliance is preferred Advanced knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, VLANs, managed switches and routers Familiarity with ITIL framework May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements Competencies/ Skills/ Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of management Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills Effectively work and contribute as part of a team Ability to support/oversee multiple projects simultaneously Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clea
