In this role, you'll be testing samples of aggregate & asphalt to ensure that only the best quality materials are used as we work together to build our communities. Wage: Starting at $22+ /hr DOE Wage Scale for Position: $25 - $34.50 /hr. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Collect samples from asphalt, or aggregate plants.
  • Performs field tests for density or other properties.
  • Performs and records aggregate gradations.
  • Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Record data and enter information into computer systems.
  • Communicates with plant staff.
  • Travel to and from various sites.
  • Performs general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production
  • Regular and timely attendance
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to obtain all applicable WAQTC certifications.
  • Must pass physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
  • Demonstrates good performance, safety and attendance.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic mathematics.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
