Wagstaff Description:

Wagstaff manufactures equipment for aluminum producers, who process formed aluminum into parts and products you use every day.

Schedule: 3:20 PM - 1:50 AM, Monday - Thursday

Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour, depending on experience

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000

Job Summary

Primarily stainless-steel fabrication, straightening, and welding using gas and electric welding equipment. Fabrication of carbon-steel and exotic metals is anticipated. Work is performed in accordance with a Nuclear Quality Assurance program.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Welding using MIG, TIG, Cobot Tip TIG, and Laser Welding technologies.
  • Fabrication by cutting, burning, straightening, and welding various metals.
  • Repair equipment by mechanical straightening and welding.
  • Identify and mitigate shrinkage and distortion associated with welding.
  • Plan and execute work based on technical documentation, drawings, procedures, and information contained within work orders.
  • Read, understand, and execute work to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and other pertinent welding documents.
  • Use calibrated precision measuring instruments, including a Faro Arm, to ensure fabrication tolerances are met.
  • Understand, organize, and perform record keeping tasks such as weld mapping on complex weldments to maintain traceability of materials.
  • Assist in the development and training of fabrication personnel on safe practices, advanced fabrication techniques, and the responsibilities identified above.
  • Design and build fabrication fixtures.
  • Prepare and/or assist with technical proposals and job estimates
  • Adhere to design specifications and related welding procedure specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Identify and initiate product/process improvements
  • Document work processes
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
  • Abide by company policies
  • In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
  • Complete quality verifications, weld records, and other build records as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five (5) years welding experience required
  • May substitute two (2) years experience for Associate of Arts degree in Welding Technology
  • May substitute one (1) year experience for accredited trade or vocational welding certificate
  • Minimum requirements shall be in conformance with the Structural Welding Code for Steel standard with the following specifications:
  • Test Position: 3G or greater
  • Joint type: complete joint penetration groove weld qualifying for unlimited thickness
  • Material: ASTM A36 mild steel or equivalent material specified as a Group 2 prequalified base metal
  • Processes: Flux core Arc Welding (FCAW) and/or Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings for proper applications of tolerances, fit, and process control
