The QA Technician assistant will be responsible for maintaining production policies and programs, and ensuring conformity of the raw materials and finished goods are in accordance with established quality standards and customer specifications. The technician will also ensure that proper packaging procedures are utilized in compliance with specifications. In addition, this position will also be responsible for activities related to product quality concerns, including containment activities and corrective/preventive actions. The quality Technician Assistant will report to the Quality Engineer.

This position will be based at our Southaven Distribution Center, in Southaven, MS.

Role Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to Assist the Quality Engineer in verification of production packaging processes according to specification.

  • Verify labels, lot codes, bags, boxes, and pallets are correctly adhered, printed, sealed, and staked.

  • Perform raw and packaging component sampling and inspection. Records and evaluate result and report any deviations to Quality Engineer supervisor.

  • Verify receiving inspection of incoming raw material and inform supervisor if any product does not meet the specification.

  • Conduct quality audits on the production/warehouse floor daily to assure that all quality policies and procedure are being followed.

  • Will be responsible for putting questionable product on Hold for disposition.

  • Assist production with day-to-day quality problems.

  • Initiate corrective actions, drive improvements, and verify corrective action completion.

  • Collaboratively interact with manufacturing and engineering teams to collecting, analyze, and summarize data; Reports out all required monthly metrics and make recommendations.

  • Assist the Quality Engineer in problem solving for corrective actions (8D, CAPA) for internal and external requests. Must have excellent problem-solving abilities using systemic, logical, and sequential approaches and provide senior technical oversight for issue/problem resolution activities, root cause analysis and preventive/corrective action implementation.

  • Ensures compliance of all quality-controlled documentation, document change activities and record retention requirements. Assist in the formulation and implementation of quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Associate degree.

  • Proven ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Effective technical writing, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills are required to engage with various levels of stakeholders and team members in remote locations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, 8D reports, attention to detail, and knowledge of general statistics is required.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience in a Quality role, supervisory experience preferred.

  • SAP proficiency preferable.

  • The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
