Home Visitor Supervisor - Early Head Start

Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Home Visitor Supervisor! I n this vital role, the Early Head Start Home Visitor Supervisor will s upervise Home Visitors (HV ), engag es the m in reflective supervision , professional development, conduct s admi nistrative supervision , and participates in the program planning process - Our Home Visitors works one-on-one with low-income families from diverse ethnic backgrounds to provide in-home and some on-site educational services to support families with infants or toddlers, or pregnant women.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures that Home Visitors are oriented to essential agency and Office of Head Start policies and procedures.

  • Identifies the training needs for Home Visitors and creates an Individual Professional Development Plan that is monitored during supervisions, as needed.

  • Guides HVCDA training process and application process with staff as needed.

  • Reviews and monitors individual Home Visitor caseloads to ensure the daily activities, data collection and quality of client services meets Office of Head Start fidelity requirements and Riverside policies and procedures.

  • Provides assessment, goal development, and planning support to Home Visitors to assist each in supporting individualized family and child goals.

  • Models’ problem solving and best practices for family engagement and home visiting practices.

  • Supervises and approves schedules, mileage reimbursement, time sheets and reviews time off requests for submission to the Program Director.

  • Schedules and facilitates bi-annual in-home visit fidelity checks with appropriate supports provided.

Pay Range: $34.00 to $38.00/hourly

Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours - Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm onsite

Required Skills

  • Fluent in Arabic, Haitian Creole , Hindi, Portuguese, or Spanish preferred

  • Knowledge of, or interest in, Reggio Emilia teaching approaches preferred

  • Has knowledge of early childhood education, developmental milestones, principles of child health, safety, and nutrition; adult learning principles; and family dynamics.

  • Is able to collaborate, communicate and motivate people

  • Has knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families to appropriate agencies and services

  • Access to reliable transportation

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development , Education , Social Work, Psychology , or related field required

  • 3-5 years’ experience in supervision preferred

  • P rior experience in Head Start, Early Education, Home Visiting, Counseling , Adult Education, Community Organizing or other related field preferred

  • Early Head Start/Head Start experience a plus

  • Experience with families with very young children and pre-natal women preferred

  • Experience with low-income families preferred

  • Experience with immigrant population preferred

  • Experience with adult learners preferred
