Position Summary:

The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for developing advanced analytical solutions that deliver business value. This is accomplished by ensuring robust and sustainable models and execution of high performing data management practices. The Senior Research Analyst develops insights by interpreting stakeholder’s analytical requirements and pairing their needs with business context. This position supports the Commercial organization via the Commercial Analytics team and works as a collaborative partner across the Swagelok organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ​​Develops advanced analytical solutions, establishes new data pipelines, ensures robust and sustainable models, executes high performing data management practices

  • ​Manage BI assets (including reports, workspaces, underlying datasets); implement and configure proper security procedures to maintain safekeeping of the data. Run extensive analysis, develop reports and draw actionable conclusions based on data

  • ​Proactively analyze data to identify patterns, trends and insights

  • ​Recommend and implement analytical tools

  • ​Present data and insights to management and executives

  • ​Assume a leadership role by training other members of the department

  • ​Participate in development and implementation of processes / solutions to collect and analyze data

  • ​Develop requirements for and execute creation of analytical solutions

  • ​Be the data/analytics subject matter expert and perform advanced analysis of sales data

  • ​Work independently to develop and track metrics to enable trend analysis

  • ​Function as the lead data expert working collaboratively with the organization

  • ​Effectively communicate the results and insights from analysis to a diverse stakeholder group, including senior executives

  • ​Identify opportunities to improve decision-making based on analysis

  • ​Plan and perform ad hoc data analysis in response to business requests

  • ​​Ensure proper documentation of analytics processes and metadata​​

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Education: B.S. Math, Statistics, Market Research, Economics or other quantitative discipline. Advanced degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of analyst experience. Previous statistical and modeling experience required – multivariate analysis (regression, cluster analysis, decision trees) and structural equation modeling. Experience with CRM system data analysis, relational databases, competitive intelligence, and B to B market research is preferred.

Skills: Expert spreadsheet skills and Microsoft Power Platform, SQL, R or other analytical tools. Excellent math and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in use of data warehouse reporting and data-mining tools. Skilled and knowledgeable in analysis theory, practice and tools. Persistence to solve difficult problems. Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills, ability to organize and handle multiple requests and projects

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Working conditions associated with normal office environment.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).

  • Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.

  • Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.

  • Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
