Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Skaneateles, NY. ONSITE.

Duration: 5 months with the possibility of extension/conversion

Your Role:

What you’ll be doing:

As a Senior Engineer, you will be involved with the research and development of advanced medical monitors saving lives across the whole world. You will take part in the whole device lifecycle, including designing architecture, implementation, documentation, and sustaining engineering for new and existing products. The successful candidate will possess solid hands-on technical abilities, an understanding of modern software practices, a vision for software development, and a passion for their work in transforming healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement portions of the software for new and existing devices, working cross functionally to understand needs and requirements, and supporting the team with your technical expertise.

• Take part in the creation of schedules and tasking to facilitate the execution of development, completion, and delivery of software,

• Apply strong software engineering expertise to design and implement robust software architectures, while influencing the processes and methodologies used by the team to create quality software,

• Develop and debug software components in a Linux environment that will be deployed in medical products using modern C++, design patterns, strong object-oriented principles, unit testing, automated testing, and software evaluation tools

• Participate in the formal documentation processes for requirements generation, software architecture, and detailed designs

• Research and develop new features and functions that will transform healthcare for the future

• Participate in the sustaining engineering effort for existing products, as well as participate in the development of future products.

Education/Experience:

• Bachlor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

• 5+ years’ experience in software engineering utilizing C/C++, preferably in a multi-process environment.

• 3+ years’ experience developing software in a Linux environment

• Networking and WiFi experience preferred

• Understanding of Yocto build systems, bash, bitbake, Python, Cyber Security concepts and methods, and medical device development are pluses.

• Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of object-oriented designs utilizing design patterns, and SOLID design principles. They will be a self-starter possessing excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills who is customer centric, collaborative, and decisive.
