Amazon Solutions Architect Manager - Cloud Sales Centre (Early Career Talent), ASEAN, AGS-Tech-APJ in Singapore, Singapore

Do you want to help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity?

We’re seeking an accomplished leader to build out a high performing Solution Architecture team aligned to the Japan & Korea geography. As a self-starter willing to operate in a multifaceted way, you should also have experience in complex architecture of cloud infrastructure and/or enterprise applications, and possess top of the line leadership skills with the ability to execute on key business initiatives. In this role you’ll drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers, ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • As a key member of the business development and account management teams, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services onto the AWS platform

  • In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a customer-focused strategy to drive adoption of AWS

  • Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects

  • Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many technical sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS

  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community

  • Guide and motivate the development of white papers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices

  • Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support

About the team

This role is within the APJ CSC Solution Architecture (SA) team. The CSC is the inside sales organization of AWS and is focused on new customer acquisitions across APJ at scale. You will have the exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally and cross-geographically, as you collaborate with internal stakeholders from sales, operations, partner, and marketing teams, while being part of an entirely new concept at AWS.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology solutions development and evangelizing end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing experience

  • Ability to conduct analysis of complex data and strong business-process design experience

  • Handles multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Experience leading and growing teams of technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles

  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in working as Solutions Architect or a similar customer facing role

  • Experience in team leadership positions in a result oriented environment

  • Track record in effectively collaborating with and influencing senior stakeholders

  • A strong understanding of AWS and/or technology as a service (Iaas, SaaS, PaaS)

  • Fluent or above in spoken/listening/written/reading English
