Description
Our Sidney, OH location is searching for an Engineering professional responsible leading the Copeland oil free centrifugal compressor integration with multiple strategic HVAC/R OEM accounts. You will be responsible for successfully integrating the compressors, controls and drive into the OEM’s system. You will be the primary Oil Free Centrifugal compressor contact for our customers and collaborate closely with the Copeland internal engineering, marketing, sales and planning teams.
As the Oil Free Centrifugal Senior Systems Engineer, you will :
Work with the Oil Free Centrifugal (OFC) development team to become the customer facing technical expert supporting the compressor, controls and drive
Assist with testing and troubleshooting the Copeland controls and variable speed drive
Represent Copeland to integrate the OFC solution into the customer’s system
Provide samples and work directly with the customer’s engineering team and lab resources to test and validate the application
Create customer facing technical specifications and troubleshooting guidelines
Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as power electronics, engineering, labs, marketing, product management and sales
Provide technical training to the internal Copeland team, customers and end-users
Clearly and precisely communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and customers
Required education, experiences & skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education
Five plus (5+) years of relevant engineering experience
Ability to travel 25-30% of the time
Understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controls) and wiring
Understanding and experience with variable speed drives and the effects on the compressor and system
Effective and adaptive oral and written skills for training, technical support and various problem-solving skills
Proven success in cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Prior commercial HVAC experience
Preferred education, experiences & skills
Experience with integrating and troubleshooting oil free centrifugal compressors, controls and variable speed drives
Experience with developing and troubleshooting controls and variable speed drives in an HVAC system
Customer facing technical and sales experience
Ten plus (10+) years of relevant engineering experience and HVAC
Experience with the operation of chillers and data center applications
