DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical infrastructure projects at both domestic and global Copeland facilities. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational efficiency. The Facilities Project Manager collaborates with process engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance teams to support manufacturing operations, minimize downtime, and improve facility performance. This position requires a self-starter who is comfortable being given projects to execute by themselves.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Standardization & Sustainability

  • Help lead global facilities standardization including construction methods and utility metering.

  • Lead facilities projects that focus on the reduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in our manufacturing, labs, and distribution facilities across the globe.

  • Work closely with the Copeland Enterprise Sustainability team develop standard processes and procedures that will drive Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reductions.

Electrical Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead electrical infrastructure projects, including power distribution, lighting upgrades, equipment installations, and energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.

  • Assess facility power requirements and recommend upgrades or modifications to support production demands.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues related to manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and automation controls.

Electrical Systems Management

  • Oversee high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems, switchgear, generators, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.

  • Ensure electrical infrastructure supports production line expansions, automation systems, and critical manufacturing processes.

  • Maintain compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), OSHA, and other relevant safety standards.

  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Identify and implement energy conservation and power quality improvement initiatives.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Develop capital expenditure proposals for electrical system upgrades and expansion projects.

  • Source and manage relationships with electrical contractors, utility providers, and equipment suppliers.

  • Monitor project costs, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

  • Evaluate service contracts for electrical maintenance, power monitoring, and emergency backup systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical systems management, maintenance, and project execution within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial power systems, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Strong knowledge of Arc Flash Studies, Power Factor Correction, and Energy Management Systems.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on project workload and location.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in facilities project management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Strong knowledge of building management and/or automation systems (BMS/BAS).

  • Strong knowledge of sustainability specific to facility construction and operations.

  • Knowledge in implementing ISO14001 and ISO50001.

  • Experience with automation systems, PLCs, and industrial controls.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.

  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification

  • NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) Certification

Work Schedule – Core Hours

You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

  • Core schedule of Monday – Friday.

  • Minimum 40 hours with core hours of 9:00AM – 3:00PM.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends based on project needs.

  • Compensatory time coordinated with manager for evening and weekend work.
