The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the main kitchen and surrounding areas. This role involves washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and maintaining back-of-house food and beverage outlets. The Kitchen Steward also assists in minor prep work, defrosts, and cleans refrigerators and freezers, and stocks serving stations with dishes and supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and sanitize machinery, kitchen equipment, wash walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures, and trash cans.
• Clean, wash, and maintain all pots and pans, dishes, chopping blocks, service equipment, and utensils.
• Clean and maintain all back-of-house food and beverage outlets.
• Maintain and sanitize all pots, pans, dishes, chopping blocks, service equipment, and utensils.
• Transport tools and equipment between departments, including positioning ladders to facilitate cleaning of structures.
• Remove trash and separate recyclable materials.
• Mop floors and clean mats and drains in all assigned areas.
• Detail clean kitchen areas and deep clean hoods.
• Place washed glasses and plates into racks to prevent breakage.
• Defrost and clean refrigerators and freezers.
• Carry supplies from refrigerators and storerooms to all kitchen areas.
• Stock serving stations with dishes and utensils.
• Mix solutions and use chemicals following safety guidelines.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One-year Food & Beverage cleaning experience and/or training OR three months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to pass a background check. 
• Current Washington State Food Worker Card.
