Key Responsibilities

Learning about the application field for the products through interaction with customers, other Siemens EDA engineers and industry peers, through direct communication with customers, independent literature research and by attending relevant technical conferences.

Understanding how the product interacts within the application field to be able to communicate customer requirements to R&D.

Demonstrate product features to customers and collect feedback about product applicability and requirements.

Contributing to application development and functional validation of software solutions developed by the engineering team.

Prototyping new products or developing new product flows according to customer application demands.

Developing test cases for the quality assurance group in their testing of user scenarios.

Filing enhancement and defect reports to address product gaps and defects; work with R&D to communicate requirements and test prospective solutions.

Providing applications engineer training and support for product deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

Master or Ph.D.’s degree in Material Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field Prior experience in Semiconductor wafer/mask process development and manufacture, and/or an EDA environment with an emphasis on Semi manufacturing software is preferred.

C/C++/Python/SHELL programming languages.

UNIX/Linux operating systems is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivated and results-oriented and strong problem-solving skills.

Open to conducting research for prototyping new products.

Some international travel is required.

Additional qualifications in one or more areas listed below

Background or experience in machine learning (ML), enabling the application of ML algorithms to analyze and optimize semiconductor processes, including but not limited to OPC, pattern selection, defect detection, and yield enhancement.

Experience in semiconductor process simulation, demonstrating proficiency in utilizing simulation tools and techniques to optimize manufacturing processes.

Background or experience with e-beam or SEM images to characterize process variations, identify defects, and improve process control.

Understanding or experience in IC physical design and layout generation, indicating familiarity with the design aspects of integrated circuits and their physical implementation.

Knowledge of the interaction between IC design flow and wafer manufacturing flow, showcasing an understanding of how design decisions impact the manufacturing process and vice versa.
