Aimbridge Hospitality Restaurant General Manager in Sedona, Arizona

Job Summary

L'Auberge de Sedona is a Forbes 4 Star resort located on the banks of Oak Creek in teh majestic Red Rock Country of Sedona, AZ.

The Restaurant General Managers pis an Executive member of the management team who is responsible for managing all aspects of the 3 meal a day restaurant, pool service, In-Room Dining and bar; from hiring and training staff to managing budgets and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Restaurant General Manager ensures the service standards are adhered to by the staff. The ideal candidate will have prior Michelin Star and/or Forbes background, tenacity, be an independent think, a go-getter who is able to filter through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires five (5) + year of fine dining restaurant manager experience.

  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal and/or State.

  • A Manager Food Handler and TIPS Certificates is a requirement of the job.

  • Prior restuarant management hotel/resort experience preferred.

  • Recruiting, hiring and training all restaurant staff, including servers and hosts

  • Scheduling employees to ensure shifts have proper coverage

  • Streamlining the restaurant processes to improve the guest experience

  • Manages restaurant finances, including sales and expenses

  • Enforcing food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety

  • Promoting the restaurant and finding ways to bring in more customers

  • Handling customer complaints

  • Completing necessary paperwork, such as sales, inventory and staff attendance reports

  • • Leadership to guide and inspire the staff

  • Understanding of how the food service industry work

  • Strong organizational skills to keep things running smoothly

  • Problem-solving skills for unexpected circumstances, such as staffing shortages or unhappy customers

  • Financial knowledge to manage the budget effectively and keep the restaurant profitable

  • Analytical skills to interpret reports and make data-driven decisions

  • Experience using restaurant management software

  • Customer service and interpersonal skills to create positive relationships

  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts practices and procedures.

  • Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return giving each guest a positive memorable entertainment experience.

  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals

  • Must present an image of excitement enthusiasm and outgoing personality while being able to project a professional appearance

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives P&L strength by implementing appropriate programs and systems and provides oversight to ensure adherence to such. Ensures strong fiscal responsibility is demonstrated by staff.

  • Utilize and/or create financial reporting tools to properly measure area’s efficiency and financial success. Takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Develops and administers operating and capital budgets.

  • Conducts or reviews detailed management and operational analyses to ensure ongoing success and efficiency within the department.

  • Responsible for specifications and quality of all food and beverage products.

  • Controls all labor and food cost percentages.

  • Responsible for quality consistency and presentation of all food and beverage products delivered to guests.

  • Recommends to senior management operational enhancements that support initiatives and promote excellence.

  • Monitors profit and loss statements to ensure objectives are met and recommends corrective actions as required.

  • Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education training coaching corrective counseling etc.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations

  • Ensures prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.

  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels to best manage labor costs while maintaining outstanding guest service.

  • Stays abreast of the current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicates pertinent information to management peers direct reports and team members as appropriate.

  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.

  • Other duties as assigned.
