Splunk, Inc. Sr. Principal Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington
Splunk Inc. has an opening in Seattle, WA for a Sr. Principal Software Engineer (Job Code: P1091). Design and develop software applications or systems. Drive technology direction within the Splunk's Platform security product domain. Lead architecture discussions, propose solutions to address scalability, securability, and usability. Lead one or more complex Platform Security initiatives/projects from inception to completion in the area of Identity & Access Management, Authentication, Certificate Management, Secrets Management and Encryption. Design, implement, test, and deploy platform level security software services and components to Splunk cloud and On-Premise environments. Build and run distributed systems at scale in production. Partner with key partners including PM and QA to influence product feature definition and deliver security solutions. Lead design and code reviews, and participate in architecture discussions. Estimate software deliverables, often across multiple sprint timelines. Participate in customer engagements and escalations and drive overall resolution. Mentor and cross-train with other security team members. Minimum Requirements: -Education and Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the position offered or software engineering-related occupation. -Special Skills: This position also requires education or experience in:
- Development and deployment in a hosted cloud environment including AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Tools including Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes
- Go, C++, and Java programming languages
- Object-oriented coding
- Filesystems, Server, and Kernel architectures
Salary: $321,160.00 to $333,300.00 per year. This role is eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, and ESPP.
