Amazon Sr. Financial Analyst, AWS Services Finance FP&A in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the AWS Services FP&A team. The successful candidate will provide cross functional support across multiple teams and initiatives, developing key financial models and insights required by senior leadership to inform long-term strategic investment decisions regarding Services capacity planning and capex. This role will help drive better visibility and insight into the success and profitability of all Service businesses and be responsible for owning the AWS Services capex planning process, working with teams to reduce complexity and drive systemic automation and creating new tools and mechanisms that lead to more informed decision making from Services.
The Sr. Financial Analyst position on this team is a high visibility, high breadth, and inclusive role that works very closely with AWS services finance teams, various AWS FP&A teams and the FinTech organization to provide insights to the AWS Services CEO, CFO and Services Finance leads on Services capacity and capex.
We are looking for a consummate Finance leader who will work collaboratively with various finance, business and tech partners, be comfortable in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous, results-oriented environment, influence the decisions of business and financial leadership through verbal and written communication, and have high standards for accuracy, logical reasoning skills, and strategic thinking.
Key job responsibilities
Be the key finance partner for Services capex supporting 200+ AWS Service business unit teams across AWS
Own AWS Server capex, along with being able to convey the overall AWS story to business and finance leadership
Manage critical capex and capacity processes, including monthly/quarterly financial reviews (MFRs), quarterly forecasts and planning cycles (short-term- and long-term)
Think on behalf of all AWS Service finance teams to invent and simplify planning and reporting processes
Proactively communicate across the AWS Service finance teams to coordinate a complex and interconnected series of deliverables
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
