Amazon CloudFront is looking for Software Development Engineers to help develop and operate cutting-edge features to delight customers and continue to scale to ever-increasing heights. This is a unique opportunity to influence CloudFront technical direction as we build our next-generation Control Plane services.

CloudFront is a content delivery network that securely delivers data, videos, applications, and APIs to customers globally with low latency, high transfer speeds, all within a developer-friendly environment. Our customers use CloudFront for fast and secure delivery of web/application content, on-demand video/music streaming, and live events streaming.

Our collaborative and inclusive team is looking for experienced and passionate, Software Development Engineers. As a member of the CloudFront Control Plane team, you will be at the intersection of CloudFront core services and customer-facing APIs.

Thus, there is the need and opportunity to impact both. You will work on projects that will transform how people produce and consume content in the cloud. Help us build a world where all the computing power and content in the cloud perform as if they are right next to the customer.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.

  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.

  • Mentor and guide the team members to solve complex problems with simple solutions.

  • Drive big ideas to improve the availability and performance of the Cloud Front Control Plane team.

  • Develop high quality, testable, and maintainable software.

  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

As an SDEs you will solve challenging problems at Amazon and influence millions of customers, sellers, and products around the world. You will create new products, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
