Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, GTMC - SIERRA in Seattle, Washington

Description

As an SDEII in GTMC SIERRA (Science, Insights, Experience, Research, Reporting & Analytics), you'll lead cross functional projects spanning Applied Science, Front End, and Backend engineering disciplines. You will build infrastructure and user experiences that deliver insights to Amazonians to help them complete Talent Management processes more efficiently and equitably. You'll be hands on while also leading other individual contributors to define and deliver on a roadmap that works backwards from our three year and operational plans. You'll be responsible for delivering and maintaining high quality, operationally sound software with strong controls around data security and privacy.

Global Talent Management & Compensation (GTMC) SIERRA (Science, Insights, Experience, Research, Reporting & Analytics) is a horizontal, multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to be a force multiplier for the broader GTMC organization and our key customer cohorts. We accomplish this by using our expertise in data analytics and science, economics, machine learning (ML), UX, I/O psychology, and engineering to build insights and experiences that raise the bar in understanding and shaping decision making at scale by integrating within and across talent journeys as well as through self-service tools and closed loop mechanisms outside of those journeys. Our portfolio of products spans foundational data sources, metrics, and research through to finished features and products that our end-customers interact with on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
