Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Shopping Finance - Store Ad Monetization in Seattle, Washington

Do you want to be at the intersection of Amazon Retail, Shopping Technology, and Advertising Monetization? We are seeking a Finance Manager to join the Shopping Finance team. This is an exciting and highly visible opportunity to interact with the business and finance leaders across World Wide Stores and Advertising with the focus on driving the Shopping customer experience and growing advertising revenue. The role will drive the upper funnel financial data strategy, build up revenue reporting and attribution analysis, establish finance mechanism and provide meaningful insights to senior business leaders on business risks and opportunities. The Finance Manager will own the overall consolidation, analysis, synthesis and reporting of Store Advertising revenue financial performance to business program leaders and to Worldwide Amazon Store finance leaders. The role also has the opportunity to define metrics in the finance catalogue, collaborate with econ team on experimentations and measure impacts for shopping product feature recommendations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design new metrics/reports/mechanisms to improve visibility into drivers of business performance. Partner with IPAT FRI and STF BIE Leads to develop financial data for advertising publishing business, standardize, and automate Store Ads financial reporting in line with the Store fin-tech long term vision.

  • Provide financial reporting and data analysis to assist with weekly/monthly/quarterly business review mechanisms.

  • Perform ad-hoc financial deep dives as necessary to highlight risks and opportunities on Store Ad Monetization and communicate findings with Shopping Business and Finance leadership.

  • Provide financial training and guidance to the broad business partners and finance team stakeholders, fostering financial literacy and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

A day in the life

We seek a Senior Financial Analyst with strong product analytics skills, effective verbal and written communication to partner with the Store Ad Monetization team for store revenue growth. The successful candidate will work across teams, project manage the financial cycles, and consolidate financial commentaries to provide insights and tell the business story. The Senior Financial Analyst will think and act quickly, and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 2+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 2+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
