Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Outside Machinist/Mechanic to work on Navy vessels. This position is ideal for Machinist Mates and other mechanical Navy trades. You will be performing maintenance and repair on shipboard mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps, and more.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repair on shipboard mechanical systems.
Work on hydraulic systems, valves, and pumps.
Maintain and repair various mechanical systems on Navy vessels, Coastguard ships, commercial ships, barges, and other large vessels.
Read and interpret blueprints for installation and repair tasks.
Essential Skills
At least 4 years of experience working between the Navy and shipyard environments.
Experience with marine mechanics, installation, valves, pumps, and outside machinist tasks.
Ability to perform maintenance on large vessels such as US Navy ships and commercial ships.
Must be DBIDS eligible.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with sheet metal mechanics.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Familiarity with shipyard environments.
Work Environment
This position is based in a shipyard environment, which includes working outdoors, in the shop, and directly on the ships. Necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats and safety glasses will be provided. Steel-toed boots are required. The work environment is dynamic and involves working on various types of vessels.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
