Port of Seattle College Intern – Human Resources Total Rewards in Seattle, Washington
Some of what you'll be doing:
This is a full-time summer internship opportunity. You’ll be working within Human Resources with the Total Rewards team, supporting the administration of benefits programs and other daily functions. This position will also have the opportunity to learn a wide array of the different Total Rewards programs and how they are managed at the Port of Seattle.
You will meet with teams and learn about the daily functions in Total Rewards.
You will support different project work that will be underway. (I-9 audit, benefit files relocation, retiree beneficiary outreach, and other project work as needed)
You will be involved in reviewing communications and collaborate with others to update materials as needed.
You will create a feedback survey that can be utilized for new employees.
You will learn about different Total Reward programs and their structures at the Port.
You will help with simple employee inquiries and attend new employee orientations.
Who you are:
A student – You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) in a degree program such as Human Resources, Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.

Comfortable with Technology –You have interest in creating and editing various multi-media. Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerApps, and email applications.
Organized and proactive –You’re able to work independently with limited guidance, demonstrating problem solving skills. You’re curious, creative, willing to learn, and possess the desire and ability to self-teach/seek out solutions.
Desired – We hope you have basic time/project management skills.
What else you need to know:
Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
Work Environment – This work will take place in a hybrid remote/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
Limited Duration – This is a limited duration position and is expected to last no longer than five months.
Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington State within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
