The Gas Power Engineering Configuration Management and Product Definition (CMPD) team is looking for a Senior Leader that has familiarity with US labor unions. This role will lead the generator and steam turbine product definition teams and will be fully responsible for all aspects of design and drafting execution, including creation of parts definition, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection. The team is a global design organization comprised of 100+ individuals based in the United States and Mexico, as well as contractors based in multiple locations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Establish the long-term strategy, yearly priorities, and monthly/weekly/daily management routines for product definition work to deliver on end customer and business objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in that order.
Activate the GE Vernova Way: Innovation, Customers, Lean, One Team, Accountable
Partner with leadership of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) to continue to build expertise in the team and develop strong working relationships to simplify processes and increase capabilities.
Champion Innovation through the identification and adoption of the latest technology for model-based product definition and empower the team to continuously improve their standard work.
Maintain the teams existing positive work environment, promoting GE Vernova’s One Team mindset in collaboration with other functions including: Manufacturing, other Engineering sub-functions, Product Line, Project Management, Sourcing, Quality and GE Vernova's Suppliers.
Meet business goals for standardization, direct release optimization and reduction of requisition hours.
Create, establish and monitor strategies, programs, plans and budgets to assure business needs are covered as well as internal/external customer satisfaction.
Ensure employees receive the training, support and guidance needed to continuously increase their responsibilities, technical contributions and growth.
Own team performance evaluations, as well as salary planning/adjustments and promotions. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and coaching.
Assure timely communication of technical and business information among organizations and within the team.
Ensure procedures are established and adhered to, maintaining the high-quality of PDE deliverables, conforming to Engineering Standards, Design Practices, Lessons Learned and applicable standard work.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant working experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a people leader/manager
This role is a hybrid work schedule and is required to be in the office in Schenectady, NY on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as a minimum.
Ability to communicate and influence up/down/across the organization including understanding the needs of internal/external customers and translating that to the team(s)
Desired Characteristics
Prior experience directly leading teams of US based unionized labor.

Proven experience implementing, using and coaching foundational lean skills/tools: Standard Work, Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, Problem Solving, KPI Development, Waste Identification
Engineering tools knowledge: CAD – Dassault CATIA, Siemens NX; PLM – Dassault, Siemens Team Center;
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence cross functional/business/location and affect real change
Knowledge of product definition processes and GD&T methodology
Experience in mechanical design applications and/or manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of Power Generation equipment
Flexibility in handling a diverse and challenging workload
Highly motivated and self-directing/self-starter
Substantial demonstrated capability in continuous improvement activities

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $150,900 - $251,500 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This Senior Professional Band position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 15%.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
