POSITION
SAS has an opening for a Quality Supervisor in the Del Rio factory. The individual in this role will conduct daily quality assurance activities. This person will report to the QA Manager and will directly oversees the Quality Auditors Team and assist the Manufacturing team to assure that SAS quality standards and customer commitments for on time delivery of new styles are met.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Confirm, log and assignment of Non-Conformance Reports keeping the NCRs tracker report up to date with closed and open NCRs, following up with the buyers the actions from vendors.
Lead the FD and FIR meetings with the Manufacturing Team and follow up with corrective actions.
Define Critical Characteristics and CQ key processes to create and schedule internal audits.
Oversees and Decision making good/no-good final product, go-by’s, temp go-bys, sale’s samples, first case production and pilots according to BOMs and look at the destroyed shoes.
Support Supervisors to improve processes and define SOP/OMS.
Supervise and manage In-Process inspectors and Final Auditors in the factories.
Control the Go-by’s for each style making sure we have all the styles available and replace if needed.
Oversee the sole’s receiving inspection process and follow up the outcome reports ensuring these are sent once the inspection is done.
Participate on daily packing walk through and follow up on the main issues found.
Assist and follow up on material’s issues found in production and if needed make sure an NCR is created for the proper follow up.
Update the weekly reports, FIR, FDs, and Repairs on power BI.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be detail orientated when testing materials for non-conformance.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as some testing materials could be heavy.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing to fill out reports.
Must be self- motivated and willing to work on whatever project is assigned.
Must be willing to change priorities when the need arises.
Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Quality control experience, in process and final product.
QMS or ISO 9000 knowledge (preferable).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical labor is often necessary for 8 hours or more per day with breaks approximately every two hours including sitting, standing walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, vibration, noise and engaging in repetitive motions.
Excellent vision to inspect material and products for defects.
Work will be conducted in a climate controlled office environment.
Ability to input data (typing) into a computer for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as some rolled goods require some lifting.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or its equivalent.
3 to 5 years of experience in shoemaking/manufacturing or general manufacturing & production facilities preferred.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
