Amazon Sr. Product Manager - External Services, Global Connectivity and Network Availability in Santa Clara, California

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Ever wonder what it takes to run the largest cloud network on the planet? At AWS, we are reinventing the way to operate hyper scale networks. This is made possible by services and systems that consume trillions of datapoints and measurements a day, automatically identify issues, and take automated action to mitigate or remediate the problem. An ecosystem of services manages configurations, real-time state and incidents for millions of devices that compose the AWS network.

The AWS Global Connectivity & Network Availability team is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to develop and own our go-to-market (GTM) strategy and plan to drive customer adoption and revenue growth of the services built on the AWS Global Infrastructure. As an outbound-focused Product Manager, you'll ensure our customers make the most of our capabilities to solve their business challenges. To do so you will develop positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for key product areas and use cases targeting customers, independent software vendors and system integration partners. You will be the end-to-end owner of outbound campaigns that span channels (Web, social media, sales enablement, and more) to put those plans into action, measure results, and communicate impact. With a focus on adoption and customer success, you'll collaborate with AWS marketing, business development, and field teams to develop materials that support the outbound strategy with a data-backed understanding of customer success patterns. You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating all friction points that come in the way of customer adoption and satisfaction with the service. This is a great opportunity to help our largest enterprise customers across all industries accelerate their adoption of AWS.

The ideal candidate will have a business and strategic background that enables them to deeply understand customer problems and challenges, drive a customer engagement from start to finish, and interact at both the executive level and with engineering leaders at our customers, as well as sufficient technical background to work with both our engineering teams and with customers in building solutions with our services. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus within AWS and within customer organizations. Good business judgement, ownership, scrappiness, team spirit, and a work hard, have fun, make history attitude are must.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop go-to-market plans for product areas and use cases within Global Connectivity & Network Availability (GCNA)

• Analyze target market segments and design positioning and value propositions for each use case and focus area

• Apply understanding of industry and competitive context to shape messaging about how our solutions address customer needs

• Design and implement campaigns, programs, and events that drive adoption and customer success; measure and communicate results

• Own and craft content for channels including Web, social media, and events to put go-to-market plans into action

• Scale go-to-market efforts through internal enablement activities

• Work effectively across AWS with groups such as sales, business development, product marketing, and evangelism to achieve business goals

• Work with engineering and feature product managers to reduce friction points that slow down or prevent customers from adopting GCNA services
