Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Lead UX Prototyping Engineer. This position is located in Santa Clara, California.

Overview
As a Lead UX Prototyping Engineer, you will work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with UX/UI designers, Industrial Design, and UX researcher to help define the future of surgical robotic experiences.
We are seeking someone with eye for detail, a strong understanding of design principles, and proficiency in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Your day-to-day will include building prototypes for software, 3D, and AR/VR experiences that allow users to interact with realistic digital proposals embedded on physical devices. Your prototypes will be used for user research evaluations, product visions and then eventually be packaged and integrated into our robotic platforms for implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with designers and UX researchers to understand their vision and bring it to life through prototyping
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of prototypes into final designs
Craft visions and concepts in code for a variety of mediums (GUI Application, 3D Graphics, AR/VR) and modalities (touchscreen, voice, gesture, sensors etc)
Conceptualize and build realistic prototypes for user testing and evaluation, including instrumentation or other interaction measurement features
Maintain a high level of quality and consistency in all prototypes
Act as a mentor and resource for junior developers and prototypers, providing guidance and support
Embrace a collaborative and team-oriented work culture to achieve project goals
Qualifications
Education
Required:
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction or other related field
Preferred:
- Masters or other higher level degrees are a plus and will be considered as part of the applicant's professional experience
Experience and Skills:
Required:
At least 10 years of experience developing for highly sophisticated systems (or Masters plus 8 years)
Be comfortable working with a variety of technologies and platforms, and be able to quickly prototype and iterate upon ideas
Familiarity with developing proof of concept prototypes in software that connect to hardware or devices
Experience advising design and program leadership on how to accomplish technological aspirations
Experience with the deploying software to hardware
Preferred:
Expertise with coding languages (C, C , or C#), Qt engine, and QML
Familiarity with the regulations of the medical or pharmaceutical industry
Familiarity with Arduino and various sensors
Desire to learn about IoT devices, interconnected systems, 3D, AR/VR experiences
Other:
- This position is based in Santa Clara, CA and requires up to 15% travel.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is [$122,500] to [$211,400].
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
