Robert Half Financial Project Manager in Santa Barbara, California

Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong HR Project Manager to support our recently acquired manufacturing client in Santa Barbara on a 6–8-month on-site engagement.

The HR Project Manager must be a self-starter, hands-on individual who can independently make relationships, work collaboratively with legal, and provide direction as needed. You will be working with a green team in terms of leadership, and your responsibility will be to get everyone on the same page.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and implement company's HR policies and practices in sync with legal guidelines. Prioritize updating the employee handbook, last revised in 2005.

  • Oversee payroll capabilities - ensure efficient transition of timesheets to ADP.

  • Set up professional communication platforms such as emails for streamlined processes.

  • Prepare for and facilitate wage/hour audit

  • Collaborate with legal to roll out updated employee handbook.

  • Drive initiatives from safety audit findings.

  • Escalate other projects that may surface as a result of wage and audit.

  • Conduct compliance and FMLA training as part of employee development.

  • Work on benefits package with supervisory team.

  • Build a productive and trustworthy working environment amidst new ownership.

    Requirements

  • A hands-on HR professional with experience in developing HR policies in a start-up environment.

  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing environment, safety audits, and the role HR plays in it.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide the team and foster a conducive working environment.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Availability: Must be available to start this project on 7/22 and go on-site.

Note: While certification in OSHA or other safety programs is not required, basic awareness of such program is necessary. Experience in compliance training and FMLA process is desirable. The candidate should be able to step in as a strategic partner and help the company navigate through wage and hour audit, compliance training, and handbooks.
