We are seeking a highly qualified Civil Engineer II who is an active member of the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR) to join our team in Puerto Rico. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing various engineering projects to include construction and maintenance of building structures an infrastructure on roads, bridges, dams and water supply systems ensuring they meet all technical specifications and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, project management experience, and a commitment to professional excellence. The idea candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills and live in Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands territories.
Key Responsibilities
Design and oversee civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water supply systems, and dredging operations.
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and environmental impact assessments.
Prepare detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop innovative design solutions.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Active member of the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR).
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
Proficient in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) is a plus.
Shall be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing long periods of time.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written are required.
