Title: Assistant Controller, Property Accounting
Location: San Francisco, Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office)
Salary: $160-$180k + Bonus + Unlimited PTO
About the Company: This multi-faceted real estate investment organization, manages assets valued at more than $10+ billion. The firm operates across the US from various offices in major cities
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the accounting for a portfolio of properties and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with fair value GAAP.
Perform month-end/year-end closing functions like cash/balance sheet reconciliations, and calculating property and construction management fees.
Assist with planning and coordination of audits and year-end accounting, including drafting footnote disclosure for property-level properties.
Manage relationships with outsourced accounting providers and oversee third-party operators.
Mentor, train, and supervise existing and new team members.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/economics, with a minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising or leading a team of accountants.
CPA or CPA Candidate preferred.
Real estate experience in commercial is strongly preferred.
Must have experience in Excel, Word, and Outlook, and familiarity with MRI and Nexus.
