Uber M&A People Team Manager in San Francisco, California

About the Role

In People & Places, we handle all things people-related so our employees around the globe are empowered to do their best work. Our M&A People team partners with stakeholders, across the whole business, on all people related matters during M&As, divestitures and workforce transformation projects.

This role will be responsible for driving key projects across the M&A People team with an eye towards people and business implications, HR compliance and employee experience. This will include owning people workstreams across the life cycle of M&A, including due diligence, pre and post close integration planning. In addition to the core project management ownership, you will need to stay connected to the relevant business partners and ensure your work is directly connected to the business goals and strategy. The team will be looking for you to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders (within and outside of the People function) providing strategic partnership, communicating status and decisions articulately, driving efficient and timely execution and taking proactive ownership of your defined projects. M&A can be chaotic, your ability to remain agile and solution oriented will be critical to your success.

What You'll Do

  • Project manage large scale project teams by creating project plans, tracking project health, managing scope, schedules and resources to meet project requirements.

  • Be able to motivate and push teams to timely completion of project milestones often with competing or parallel deadlines.

  • Partner with our People Analytics team on all M&A data needs, projects and management; inclusive of data migration elements

  • Partner with M&A Program Manager, Compensation, HRBPs and cross-functional M&A Leads in assisting with organizational design and mapping & leveling activities, which may include collecting, scrubbing and matching of target company data to analyze impact of integration decisions

  • Provide strategic partnership across internal stakeholder teams and business leaders, often navigating conflict and being responsible to drive alignment when missing.

  • Distill, summarize and present data findings to senior leadership with a knack for simplifying complex ideas quickly and clearly.

  • Diagnose operational breakdowns at the root cause and work with key stakeholders to find short and long term solutions that are both holistic and optimal.

  • Proactively identify process inefficiencies and collaborate cross-functionally to drive improvements and support evolving the M&A playbook and tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years professional, related experience

  • Project Management experience. Managing complex and large scale projects from beginning to end, adhering to milestones, and actively participating in communications with key stakeholders.

  • HR exposure and acumen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic partnership to business leaders

  • Demonstrated experience in the M&A space

  • Attention to detail. Ensuring numbers, metrics are accurate, reviewed and delivered on time to key stakeholders.

  • Advanced modeling and formula skills in Google Workspace

  • Workday HCM and reporting experiences

  • Project Management Professional certification

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$152,000 per year - USD$169,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
