BAE Systems Contracts Manager in San Diego, California

Job Description

As Contracts Manager, you will supervise assigned Contract Administrators and work with customers to shape and close business opportunities aligned with internal objectives.

  • Work products and interactions will be at multiple levels, from your functional group and program office team to executive leadership.

  • The selected candidate will coordinate, negotiate and manage complex proposals and customer contracts.

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise Contract Administrators in execution of various contracts.

  • Working understanding of the contracts function, Fixed Price, Cost Plus and commercial contracting methods, FAR/DFAR and other regulations.

  • Independently lead and support proposal activities including analyzing solicitations, preparing summaries, developing strategies and recommendations, preparing terms and conditions, reviewing proposals for accuracy and preparing the proposal documents for submittal to customer. Coordinate with other company functions and ensure appropriate reviews are scheduled and approved by management.

  • Make recommendations on proposal and contract language. Ensure coordination and other functional inputs are reflected in terms of offer.

  • Lead contract negotiations and collaborate with customers.

  • Perform all aspects of contract lifecycle processing with necessary accuracy of order entry data, and necessary focus on contract funding, scope changes, contract amendments, delivery, legal requirements, etc.

  • Lead or support fact-finding and other audits.

  • Ensure proper interpretation of the contract(s).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s Degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent experience

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of, and experience with, FAR and DFAR and export regulations.

  • Proven ability to lead and close complex negotiations and contracts requiring Current Cost or Pricing Data and TCPD certification.

  • Experience with various contractual agreements to support business (ex. NDAs, MOU, teaming agreements, etc.).

  • Communicates effectively with strong written and verbal skills.

  • Sound interpersonal and conflict resolution skills for effective negotiation

  • Computer skills for reports and other documents.

  • Make business decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, and applicable federal laws and regulations.

  • Presentation skills to upper management.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Government ship repair contracting experience is a big plus.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $113080 - $192280

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
