Performs advanced material tests and manufacturing process inspections in laboratories, plants and at points of supply. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.Essential Duties:Material/Process Tech IAssists in maintaining equipment.Cleans laboratory.Performs routine material tests to ensure materials conform to Department specifications; as required moves material samples.Prepares and types correspondence, reports, supporting documents and files.Prepares inspection or test reports.Records test data on worksheets and performs calculations to convert raw data into specific units of measurement.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Material/Process Tech IIIn addition to the duties listed aboveIndependently performs routine and non- routine material tests; as required moves material samples.Informs plant personnel of material or production problems, rejects substandard material and assists in determining cause for material problems.Maintains and assists in calibrating equipment.Reports test results to field construction personnel and may assist in determining cause for material problems.Material/Process Tech IIIIn addition to the duties listed aboveHandles material or production problems referred by less experienced inspectors.Independently performs advanced material tests, inspects manufacturing processes and plant equipment in manufacturing plant or inspects materials at point of supply to ensure conformance to Department specifications.Performs tests and inspection duties.
