Job Summary
As aSubstitute Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. Your role is essential in maintaining a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment, and ensuring that students continue their learning while the regular teacher is away. You will follow provided lesson plans, ensure the classroom runs smoothly, and help students engage in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and implement the lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
- Create a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Provide clear and accurate instructions to students and support their learning.
- Foster an atmosphere of respect, cooperation, and mutual learning.
- Report student progress and challenges to the designated school staff.
- Be a collaborative team player and support the schools culture and values.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities
- Self-motivated with a passion for teaching and helping children.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Coachable and able to follow directions effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and school staff.
- Capability to maintain classroom control and foster a positive learning environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience is advantageous.
