Job Title: Wildlife Conservation Biologist II This is a Time Limited (TL) position with an estimated duration of approximately 1 year. Internal candidates will be considered for career mobility. If you are goal-oriented,have a passion for wildlife,and know how to help others succeed,then a Wildlife Conservation Biologist with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is the job for you! As a Conservation Biologist,you will administer the wildlife conservation program in the Southeast Region,collecting field data on various native bird and mammal species and working towards conserving their populations and habitat.   Principle Duties: The conservation biologist will:

  • Administer the wildlife conservation program for the Southeast Region of Utah
  • Participate in conservation outreach with native species
  • Prepare grants,design projects,develop research protocols,conduct surveys,analyze data
  • Budget oversight

The Ideal Candidate (will have):

  • A master's degree or BS with 4 years of related experience
  • knowledge of native birds and mammals in Utah
  • various field experience working with a wide array of wildlife and data collection methods

* Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor s degree in a natural resources field.  Additional preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree in a wildlife-related natural resources field or other applicable field that is beneficial for the position.
