Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Role/Purpose:
The Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Field Service Engineers (FSE) are required to provide World Class support to our customers through start-ups, audits, maintenance, repair, and training of Safeline x-ray, metal detectors, or Hi-Speed Checkweighers. PI FSE's are responsible for managing all aspects of field service support including the following: communications between customers and the service department, effective scheduling, detailed preparation of written reports and documentation, and maintenance of job assignments, while always keeping in mind to follow MT PI procedures and best practices.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Satisfy all Safety Requirements for both MT-PI and Customer Sites
Attend daily tier calls led by a Regional Service Manager
Efficiently execute scheduled service calls as directed from Dispatch or Management while taking into account cost, time, and customer needs/expectations
Develop and maintain good customer relationships; Become the customer's trusted advisor
Identify root cause of service issues (first time fix)
Accurately complete and submit all service reports and documentation per service activity, timesheets, and expense reports in a timely manner
Keep up with ongoing technical training
Weekend/afterhours work as required based on workload and rotation
Overnight travel as required - Travel 100%
Maintain company supplied equipment, tools, and inventory

What You Need to Succeed
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use all types of hand tools and digital test equipment
Knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and distribution systems
Working mechanical knowledge of conveyor systems
Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical distribution systems
Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and the ability to read blueprints and schematics
Self-motivated for high performance
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Customer focused
Detail oriented
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight time constraints.
Fluency in English and Spanish a plus
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
High School Diploma or a GED required.
Associate of Science in Electronics or Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Field Service Technicians are required to work in the following environments with the listed physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
Constantly works around moving mechanical parts in conditions that include cold and hot temperatures, and humid environments.
Occasionally works in damp/wet environments to include meat and diary plants. Occasionally exposed to allergens, i.e. peanuts.
Occasionally works in explosive environments.
Noise level may by loud at times.
The ability to operate large industry machinery as well as handle mechanical and electrical tools as needed.
Ability to constantly lift and move tools and equipment up to 75 pounds
