Responsibilities The Decision Science team helps our operating companies solve their most challenging problems and drives decisions with data. As a Senior Data Governance Analyst at POST, you are passionate about working with data and partnering with business and technical stakeholders to enable data driven decision making. You will champion a data driven culture by leveraging your expertise in implementing analytic data governance framework and leading the adoption of data catalog. As a subject matter expert for technical and functional aspects of the tool, you will create and maintain a robust and sustainable framework for cataloging that supports data growth. You think and act like an owner, by championing continuous improvement, fostering catalog tool adoption, mentoring the rollout of the catalog tool and the analytic governance framework across the organization. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES The Senior Data Governance Analyst will lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of analytic data governance framework and processes relative to sourcing, management, development, and consumption of critical analytic data assets. Lead the implementation, maintenance, and propagation of the power of a data catalog platform in helping keep up with the data growth. Work with stakeholders to define and develop analytic data governance framework for a federated architecture. Take responsibility for the end-to-end ownership of implementing the data catalog and analytic data governance framework. Lead the design and implementation of a data catalog framework that is adaptable for various lines of business in the organization, expandable for acquisitions, flexible for data separation and content sharing. Be the subject matter expert in defining processes and framework across various features in the catalog tool and develop solutions that the operating companies can lean on to take forward and adapt. Work closely with the Enterprise analytics owners to support them in the implementation of their use case by building the required metadata framework, actionable insights etc. to achieve a great end user experience. Design and manage the technical aspects of the tool such as automated metadata ingestion, user access management, new feature rollouts etc. Develop and maintain metrics and KPI’s tracking the health of data from the perspective of quality, availability, usability, and other factors relevant to business interests. Support in the implementation of effective internal control structure in accordance with prescribed governance, data privacy risk and compliance requirements. Evangelize data catalog, enable adoption to enable data driven decisions across the Post Holdings network through strategic leadership and guidance. Cultivate and champion a process to make cataloging an integral part of the project lifecycle. Work closely with the data consumers across the enterprise to integrate data quality, discoverability, and accessibility practices that drive data transparency across the organization. Champion analytic data governance across the enterprise, engaging and setting objectives for Data Owners, Stewards, and Custodians. Develop and maintain metrics and KPI’s tracking the health of data from the perspective of quality, availability, usability, and other factors relevant to business interests. Contribute to roadmap development, business cases and plans to improve data governance, quality, and use. Lead delivery and production responsibilities so that people have the right information, in the right context, on the right delivery channel when they need it. Foster innovation by keeping abreast of new tools and technologies introduced in the platform, which can be integrated to the data catalog tool to showcase complete data lifecycle. Innovate new processes to effectively manage data quality and observability from the data catalog platform. Implement and setup connectors for new data sources in coordination with tool vendor and the internal security team. Coordinate with the tool vendor for updates to the collector and its implementation. Seek to simplify process, architecture and tool selection over time with elegant design. Be a problem finder, mitigate bottlenecks and improve business adoption of Data catalog and governance practices. Promote development best practices, coach, mentor and develop team members to ‘raise their game’ every day. Recommend a roadmap of the capabilities needed on the team to reach strategic objectives and effectively match people, their interest and ability levels to drive them to achieve their personal best. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to elevate the game and operational maturity of the team. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS 5 - 7 years of experience in data governance or quality management with significant influence on overall direction of data governance management. 3+ years of experience leading, instituting and evangelizing framework, technology and/or process in the data governance space. Strong experience in data catalog tools such as Alation, Data.world, Collibra etc. – as an enabler, with a sound understanding of underlying architecture, processes and framework across various features in the tool. Proven record of accomplishment in instituting and/or being an integral part of a data governance practice. Strong understanding of data structures, metadata management, and data governance principles. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to translate complex concepts and situations into plain language & ability to speak both business and technical language. Technical know-how to understand how to create and debug scripts for automated metadata collection. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of data analysis methods, ability to analyze and resolve data related issues. Familiarity with the concepts and strategies of change management. Working knowledge in SQL. Sound understanding of database structures, data models and/ or BI tools. Hands on experience in a database tool. Prior experience with CPG, Manufacturing landscape – a plus. Experience working with/integrating APIs – a plus. Strong people skills, cooperative and assertive in coordinating with various stakeholders across the organization.
