State of Utah - Jobs Office Administrator in SAINT GEORGE, Utah

Put your customer service and analytical thinking skills to work for our St. George team! *The State of Utah Department of Commerce,Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) is looking for an Office Administrator. *This position is NOT eligible for telework,the schedule is Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch break.   **PRINCIPAL DUTIES In this position you will process complaints,answer incoming phone calls and assist with daily Operations duties. Duties include,but are not limited to:

  • Processing complaints per established policies and procedures.
  • Responding to telephone,face-to-face,and written inquires.
  • Maintaining and demonstrating a working knowledge and understanding of all laws,rules,and policies/procedures relating to assigned position.
  • Demonstrating a working knowledge of basic computer skills and agency-used software applications.
  • Entering data,accurately,into agency software.
  • Writing or drafts correspondence,reports,documents and/or other written materials.
  • Verifying data entry by comparing the source document against input data,utilizing an automated verification system,using dual entry or other verification technique.
  • Maintaining and/or creating case files or record keeping systems. Sorts,labels,files and retrieves documents,or other materials.
  • Editing written material for accuracy,format,and arrangement of material.
  • Reviewing data,records and files for detail and accuracy.
  • Monitoring,tracking and following up on documentation,or other assignments to ensure appropriate timelines are met and action completed.

  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • An excellent job attendance record.

  • Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
    • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
    • Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. 
      • Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
      • Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.  
    • Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
  • Paid Time Off:
    • Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual,4 hours sick).
    • Annual leave amounts increase with ye rs of service. 
    • We have 12 paid holidays.
