About the unit
6NW is a Progressive Care unit where RN’s have the opportunity to be trained to work with more critically ill patients than on a general Med Surg unit. All RN’s on 6 NW receive Critical Care training. APP’s are on the unit for both day and night shifts and participate in rounds along with the RN’s and physicians.

Scope of work
Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Qualifications
Associates in Nursing Required
Bachelors in Nursing or MSN Preferred
Two years of relevant nursing experience required.
Participation in leadership activities (unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, precepting, charge RN role, etc.) is highly preferred
MI Registered Nurse (RN) RequiredBasic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
