ABOUT THE JOB Responsibilities: Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations Prepare and enter journal entries for assigned accounts or functions, which may include cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, deposits, intangible assets, fixed assets, payables, accrued liabilities, leases, use tax, expense allocations and credit card expenses Reconcile assigned accounts and maintain supporting detail Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and internal policies and procedures Fixed Assets Perform all fixed asset accounting, including tracking construction in process, recording fixed asset additions and retirements, running book and tax depreciation and asset reports Prepare reporting on fixed asset spending versus budget Proactively monitor and analyze spending variances on projects, ensuring all capitalization and authorization policies are enforced Record fixed asset related journal entries and reconcile FAS to the general ledger for all entities Administer company vehicle program Sales Tax Filing File sales tax returns for all entities Maintain sales tax rates in JD Edwards Reconcile tax accounts, accrue, and submit use tax Assist with collecting exemption or resale certificates from customers and provide sales tax exemption certificates to vendors Audit Assist with the year-end and interim external audits Aid with the internal and external SOX audits Process Improvement Model a continuous improvement mindset, identifying process improvements and efficiencies Other duties as assigned ABOUT YOU Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required 1+ years relevant experience demonstrating strong analytical skills, ability to foster cross- functional working relationships, and capacity to handle multiple priorities and projects Knowledge and use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) Knowledge and use of ERP systems, JD Edwards experience preferred Knowledge of GAAP and SOX requirements preferred Ability to achieve results independently and within a team setting Ability to multitask and work well while meeting deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical ability Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
