Parsons Corporation Senior Project Manager - Underground Works (Utilities & Drainage) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Project Manager to join our team! In this role, you will provide technical guidance to designers, engineers, and technical clarification to construction delivery teams; acting in an advisory capacity to senior management on technical matters and bring technical expertise to all aspects of underground utilities and drainage projects. Help to plan and define engineering program goals and devise methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client specifications, contract terms, and corporate policies.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assists in leading discipline design teams on projects while assisting with building of relationships with key clients.

  • Provides mentorship and guides development of junior staff with standard engineering practice/methodologies, and commonly used CAD/CAE and modeling software for utility and drainage design.

  • Coordinates with discipline counterparts such as roadway, structural, utilities and others during design efforts.

  • Communicating with project managers and discipline leads to ensure success of projects.

  • Able to meet deadlines and independently manage assigned tasks and workloads. Assists with managing tasks of junior staff.

  • Participates in company-wide technical H&H community and professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies and networking.

  • Applies advanced engineering principles to complex analytical models and proficient in commonly used engineering software and methodologies.

  • Performs and leads design plan production, specifications, and reports for projects of all sizes. Highly proficient in commonly used software environments as needed for project requirements for both plan production and analytic modeling/reporting.

  • Understands QA/QC standard practices and procedures, ensuring quality requirements and project criteria and scope are met during project delivery. Acts as the company representative with the client and selected suppliers during the program execution.

  • Ensure projects adhere to relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.

  • Completes other responsibilities associated with the position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or equivalent from a recognized university essential.

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant technical experience, including significant large-scale railway and transit projects is essential.

  • Profound understanding of engineering management, construction techniques, geological considerations, and industry best practices.

  • Considerable experience at senior technical level in client facing roles.

  • Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal / external correspondence; ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders as required by the client.

  • Understanding of the construction management at risk alternative delivery process and the functions inherent to construction management of large-scaled projects

  • Understanding of budget development and cost accounting.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Chartered Engineer status, Professional Engineer or equivalent.

  • GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience preferred, KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) ideal.

  • Aviation experience is not essential but favorable.

  • Familiarity with Design and NOC (No Objection Certificate) process in the GCC/KSA.

  • Ability to manage and encourage a team of design and engineering management professionals.

  • Ability to interface with all levels with project team, client, and others.

  • Knowledge of construction contract negotiation and administration.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex engineering documents.

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of support function problems.

  • Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing relationships that comply with the client’s proactive, collaborative culture.
