Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Contract Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee the entire contract management process, including negotiation, drafting, performance monitoring, and compliance. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, and a deep understanding of contract law and risk management. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and negotiator, capable of managing complex contracts and resolving issues efficiently while ensuring that organizational and client objectives are met.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and oversee the contract management process, ensuring efficient execution, compliance, and risk mitigation.

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership for contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements.

  • Develop and implement processes and systems for efficient contract lifecycle management.

  • Lead the negotiation of contracts with clients, vendors, and partners to achieve the best possible terms and mitigate potential risks.

  • Draft, review, and amend contracts, ensuring they meet organizational standards, legal requirements, and project needs.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (legal, procurement, finance, operations) to ensure contract terms are feasible and beneficial to the company.

  • Oversee the execution and performance of contracts to ensure adherence to agreed terms, timelines, and performance standards.

  • Monitor contract performance, identifying any deviations, delays, or non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.

  • Ensure that all parties involved in the contract fulfill their obligations and responsibilities.

  • Identify and assess risks within contracts, such as financial, legal, and operational risks, and provide solutions to mitigate them.

  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted during the contract negotiation phase and that appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.

  • Provide guidance on contractual disputes and assist in resolving conflicts in a manner that aligns with company objectives.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders concerning all contractual matters.

  • Collaborate with project managers, legal advisors, procurement teams, and other departments to ensure smooth contract execution and performance.

  • Facilitate communication between parties to address any issues and ensure timely delivery of contractual obligations.

  • Maintain an organized and accessible contract database, ensuring all contracts are properly documented, stored, and tracked.

  • Ensure timely contract renewals, extensions, and amendments, and track key dates such as expiration, performance reviews, and milestones.

  • Maintain accurate records of all communications, contract amendments, and performance reviews.

  • Lead contract training initiatives for team members, departments, and stakeholders to ensure understanding of contract terms, processes, and best practices.

  • Promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the organization.

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on contract status, performance, risks, and compliance.

  • Analyze contract data and trends to identify areas for process improvement or potential future challenges.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Law, Procurement, or a related field.

  • A Masters Degree or relevant professional certifications (e.r Certified Professional Contracts Manager - CPCM) is a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, with a proven track record in leading contract negotiations and managing large, complex contracts.

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with senior management to ensure successful contract execution.

  • Knowledge of contract law, compliance requirements, and industry-specific regulations.

  • In-depth understanding of contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage teams, engage stakeholders, and resolve issues effectively.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex discussions and build lasting relationships.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically in identifying solutions and mitigating risks.

  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Certifications: Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or other relevant certifications (e.g., CCM, CIPS).

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in [specific industry] contracts, such as construction, IT, procurement, or government contracting.

  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management principles and experience in overseeing contracts related to project delivery.

  • Legal Acumen: Familiarity with relevant local, state, and international laws and regulations governing contracts in the respective industry.
