Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. Your primary responsibilities will include performing various mechanical maintenance tasks such as insulation, repairing rotating equipment, installing and repairing pipework, basic welding, and operating plant utilities such as boilers and cooling towers. You will also be expected to conduct preventive and predictive maintenance, assist other employees, and participate in company activities such as Safety and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Basic computer skills and understanding of Maintenance Management System is required. Cleaning and sanitation of work areas is also a part of your job role.

Hard Skills

  • At least 2 years of related maintenance experience in oil, chemical, pharmaceutical or process manufacturing facility

  • At least 3 years of experience in the use of hand and power tools

  • At least 2 years of experience in taking apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts

  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals, or parts catalogs

  • At least 1 year of Experience performing routine maintenance

  • Basic computer skills and understanding of Maintenance Management System

Soft Skills

  • Ability to execute work in a safe and expedient manner

  • Ability to assist other employees

  • Ability to participate in company activities as directed by management

  • Ability to look for opportunities to help work get done safer, faster and more cost effective

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Richmond, California.

Work Environment

The job is performed in a manufacturing plant. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, heat, sparks, oil, and smoke may occur. Protective safety equipment is required including appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves, hardhat, and goggles as needed. Activities include extended periods of standing and extensive work with various devices and heavy machinery.
