We are seeking an Information System Administrator to support our IT Storage operations with a focus on backup management and CMDB (Configuration Management Database) maintenance. This role will assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the integrity of backup systems while maintaining accurate asset and configuration records in the CMDB. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of storage system administration, backup solutions, and IT asset management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and troubleshoot daily backup jobs (Commvault, Acronis).
• Perform full system and incremental backups and restores.
• Maintain backup policies and ensure compliance.
• Support OS and client-side updates for backup software.
• Document backup processes and recovery procedures.
• Assist with capacity planning for backup storage.
• Develop runbooks and documentation for backup procedures.
• Support data protection and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Track and document changes to IT infrastructure.
• Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support for backup and asset management issues.
• Update and maintain the CMDB for system configurations, hardware, and software assets.
• Resolve discrepancies in asset records.
• Ensure CMDB aligns with operational and compliance requirements.
• Generate IT asset management reports and audits.
• Collaborate with IT teams to improve backup reliability and CMDB data integrity.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
• Understanding of backup solutions (Acronis, Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup, etc.).
• Familiarity with CMDB concepts and asset management tools (ServiceNow, or similar).
• Understanding of Windows/Linux system administration fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An associate or bachelors degree in information systems, computer science, or related degree.
• Experience working with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate tasks.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and change management best practices.
• Experience with NetApp and Pure Storage hardware.
• Experience running reports in ServiceNow

Work Environment:

• Less than 5 percent of travel support will be required depending on operational needs.
• May involve occasional after-hours or on-call support for critical backup or recovery tasks.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related issues.
• Ability to lift and move IT hardware and work in data center environments.
