Summary

Celestica is a leader in the electronic manufacturing and end-to-end solution industry including design to after-sales services for its customers. The Indirect Procurement team is responsible for sourcing non-production goods and services in categories such as facilities, MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operations including consumables glue and staples, Personal Protective Equipment - goggles, gloves, smocks, etc.), equipment, HR as well as other professional services (legal, finance, audit), IT and utilities.

This position primary focus is to enable the growth of Celestica Richardson facility. The candidate will need to have experience in leading procurement and/or supply chain teams whether locally, regionally or globally. The successful candidate will also have experience in leading large and complex projects as well as holding responsibility and accountability in successfully achieving results outlined as part of their objectives.

Detailed Description

  • Lead a team of Indirect Procurement Managers, Advisors and Specialists by providing support, guidance, insight, feedback, mentorship and leadership as the team performs their tasks to manage requests, launch and bringing to closure sourcing activities (if/as required) such as RFQs, RFPs, RFIs. The team also looks after contracting with suppliers – must coordinate with legal and negotiate as well as draft and finalize the contract with the suppliers

  • Report results, challenges and achievements as it relates to the Richardson team’s performance and activities – provide solutions and improvements on a continuous basis

  • Effectively communicate with and challenge (when required) different stakeholders including senior leaders at Celestica whether operational leaders such as General Managers of our Richardson (or other America) facility, regional and/or segment VPs, executives in functional or operational roles located globally.

  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders at each site to become knowledgeable and in tuned with projects to come to help Celestica identify

  • Proactively identify, plan and put in motion opportunities across all categories by analyzing data available; this requires collaboration with colleagues in globally for best practices and opportunities

  • Work in collaboration with Celestica Global Indirect Category Management Team (ie. Equipment, IT, Travel) to ensure execution of Celestica Indirect Global Categories Strategies

  • As a senior member of the indirect procurement team, lead by example by being a strong business partner, solid negotiator, exuding confidence and comfortable in being uncomfortable by being able to handle confrontation or conflicts if/when they arise with internal and/or external stakeholders

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities in industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends.

  • Strong knowledge of Celestica’s global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives and how they fit in

  • Excellent understanding of global business environment and Customers business, organization, products and processes.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.

  • Ability to leads complex negotiations effectively.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

  • Ability to interface with many international sites to establish strong working relationships and cooperation.

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

  • Frequent overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

  • Nine plus years of relevant experience

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Commerce, Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
