As a Senior Database Administrator, you will leverage your expertise maintaining the health, performance, and security of NVR’s SQL databases. You will develop an understanding of NVR’s data needs and infrastructure (on-prem and cloud) to identify solutions to database related issues and improve the quality of service.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day activities regarding the upkeep and availability of all SQL servers in multiple environments through patching, upgrading and troubleshooting activities

  • Work with software engineers to design and optimize databases, stored procedures, and queries

  • Responsible for SQL backup and restore functions including scheduled tests of DR availability

  • Contributes to data refresh process and execution to lower environments

  • Ensures database security through policy adherence, monitoring and internal auditing

  • Database performance and capacity planning to support migration of on-premises SQL databases to Azure SQL

  • Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, improve infrastructure for better scalability, and SQL query performance tuning

  • Setup and maintain SSIS / SSRS servers and work closely with data warehouse and ETL processes

  • On call duties as needed including after-hours support

  • Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies

  • Follow established NVR policies and procedures. Recommend changes when needed

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience and strong skills in supporting and performance tuning Microsoft SQL Server (2005-2019), Microsoft SSIS/SSRS (2016-2019)

  • 1-2 years experience in Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Managed Instance

  • Proficient in TSQL Languages, PowerShell Scripting and working knowledge in Nutanix

  • Must have strong communication and documentation skills
