Responsibilities

Ascension’s Growth Marketing and Digital Experience (GMDx) group seeks a Senior Digital Analyst who will help ensure our team takes a data-driven approach to driving awareness, access, healing, and health for all Ascension patients, with a particular focus on the poor and vulnerable. The ideal candidate will be crucial in leveraging data to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, drive decision-making, optimize digital products, and enhance consumer satisfaction and well-being. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ask great questions that will be a trailhead for high ROI data initiatives.

  • Work with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Designers to help craft questions and KPIs that will help evaluate performance and accelerate learning/insight.

  • Complete basic-to-intermediate level data ingestion tasks/projects that may include: using APIs to extract data, extracting data from flat files, combining data from multiple data sources, and storing data in columnar databases.

  • Prepare (i.e. clean/transform) data for analysis and visualization. This includes leveraging SQL for data manipulation, querying, and analysis, including complex joins, subqueries, and window functions, as well as handling missing data, resolving inconsistencies, and correcting for other errors

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to generate descriptive statistics, visualize data distributions, and identify patterns and correlations.

  • Construct charts, dashboards (Tableau, GDS), ad hoc reports (GCP, SQL, others). These artifacts should reveal insights and opportunities from various data sources, including clickstream, client-side and server-side product data, EHR data, conversion funnels, CRM, etc.

  • Apply basic-to-intermediate level statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to validate assumptions, uncover insights, and identify potential biases or errors in data.

  • Present hypotheses, analyses, and data-driven recommendations to executive stakeholders across product, engineering, UX, design, and clinical operations, among others.

  • Use product analytic tools (Amplitude) to extract insights related to consumer behavior while also developing and overseeing processes for scalable implementation & management.

  • Serve as player-coach for data initiatives (e.g. new analyses or data sources), leveraging lightweight project-management frameworks (Kanban, Agile, Scrum) and tools (Jira).

  • Educate and support team members across various departments in self-service analytics, hypothesis testing, and data storytelling.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; Advanced degree preferred

  • 3-5 years in a deeply technical role such as analytics, data engineering, data science, or statistics in a digital, product, or e-commerce organization

  • Proficiency in A/B testing and other experimental techniques.

  • Basic-Intermediate level proficiency with data ingestion, including but not limited to: using APIs to extract data, extracting data from flat files, combining data from multiple data sources, automating ETL processes, and storing data in columnar databases.

  • Experience with digital and product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Google Analytics, Apigee, particularly in an administrative capacity.

  • Deep data visualization and executive presentation experience (Tableau, Looker, GDS, Google product suite)

  • Proficient in SQL and familiarity with at least one other analytic programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SPSS) is preferred.In-depth experience with Google Cloud technologies, especially BigQuery, for robust data processing and complex analytics.

  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square tests, and other multivariate techniques.

  • Leadership skills, experience leading effective discussions with cross-functional teams while driving progress and accountability

  • Healthcare industry experience is a major plus
