Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Business Developer based in Atlantic Provinces, CN.

As a Business Developer at Ameresco, you will strategically market, promote, and sell a full range of clean energy solutions for operational needs. You will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and expansion through the acquisition of new clients and the development of strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with potential clients, and negotiating agreements to achieve sales targets and revenue objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategically identify, pre-qualify, and connect with C-level decision makers to develop opportunities for facility-related aging infrastructure needs, sustainability needs, operational needs and/ or financial needs.

  • Formulate successful strategies to increase sales activities and ensure annual goals are attained.

  • Successfully develop, organize, strategically position, prepare and issue winning proposals and presentations.

  • Assume overall responsibility for the development of preliminary and final proposals.

  • Represent the company at selected conferences; tradeshows; events; and in the public forum; advancing the market awareness of the Ameresco value proposition.

  • Assist with the development of contract documents.

  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and understanding of entire proposal and contract terms.

  • Coordinate the implementation interface with Project Management and Operations teams.

  • Cultivate and foster customer relationships.

  • Perform other duties as required.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience driving and managing complex and integrated building infrastructure project sales.

  • Technical background with ability to communicate and demonstrate understanding of proposed solutions.

  • Proven track record in securing sales from top level management, including preparation of financial models and structures to address building, asset, infrastructure, operational and/or energy needs.

  • Bachelor Degree or 10+ years’ commensurate experience with active progress toward industry-related education preferred.

  • Demonstrated sales lead development and account cultivation skills, including effective negotiation, and closing techniques.

  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical, and proposal communication and presentation skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite, Salesforce.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and positive business relationships.

  • Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident province required.

  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

  • Travel required.
