Robert Half Patient Admin Specialist (PAS) in Redwood City, California
Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Patient Admin Specialist (PAS) in Redwood City, California. The role focuses on handling new patient coordination, surgery scheduling, and other front office functions in an outpatient clinical setting. As a Patient Admin Specialist, you will support administrative tasks related to the daily operations of the clinic.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process patient check-ins and check-outs at the front desk
• Handle initial patient inquiries about appointments, payment schedules, and more
• Manage multi-line phone systems, screening and routing calls, and taking messages for clinic staff and physicians
• Ensure all necessary verifications and authorizations are completed prior to patient-provider interactions
• Liaise with providers regarding their scheduling preferences and urgent patient needs
• Provide support between doctors and patients using various reference documents and tools
• Conduct administrative tasks such as maintaining informational databases, paging directory, and processing internal forms
• Utilize the telephone system and electronic medical records systems effectively in performing the assigned job tasks
• Respond to non-clinical CRMs and patient messages, escalating where appropriate
• Manage and distribute faxes, mail, and maintain the filing of clinic-specific documentation
• Uphold the organizational and department service standards.

• Working knowledge of operating systems
• Experience with authorizations in a healthcare setting
• Proficiency with computer systems
• Ability to distribute faxes effectively
• Experience with daily operation in a medical setting
• Excellent coordination skills
• Experience with patient check-in procedures
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficiency with phone systems, particularly multi-line phone systems
• Experience with EMR - Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to route incoming calls effectively
