The Windows Autopatch Reporting and Insights team is actively seeking an experienced Software Engineer II – Data Services to help the team shape the future of IT management and contribute to the company's commercial servicing and intelligence strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate requirements, estimate development costs, design and implement reporting features in collaboration with cross-functional teams, and resolve outstanding bugs.

  • Operate under Scrum principles, to ensure continuous improvement in the engineering environment and to enhance processes.

  • Work collaboratively with teammates and various organizations within Microsoft, to actively drive business value.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Scala, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year experience with one or more Big Data or Analytics Products / Services such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data Lake, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Azure HDInsight, Azure Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, NoSQL Services, or MongoDB.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Scala, Python, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Solid SQL/NoSQL and Data Analysis skills.

  • Visualization with PowerBI.

  • Data Science, AI and ML experience.

  • Experience learning and adapting to new technologies and engineering processes quickly.

  • Experience understanding complex problems, and creating solutions across many products.

  • Problem solving, testing, and debugging skills.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
