As a Principal Technical Program Manager in the Engineering Thrive Team you will join a team that will empower leaders and developers companywide to understand opportunities for improving developer productivity for their teams to help make Microsoft’s developers the most productive on the planet.  The Principal Technical Program Manager will drive change and impact across Microsoft, GitHub and LinkedIn by partnering with engineering leaders and developers from across the company, and regularly interact with top executives to tell the story of impact and learnings.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand Microsoft’s developers and the key drivers of satisfaction and productivity 

  • Drive semesterly companywide Thrive impact analysis company for executives 

  • Drive the Thrive communication and evangelization strategy 

  • Drive the Thrive team Rhythm of Business 

  • Partner with engineering systems leaders and teams across the company to, derive insights, and set action plans for improvement 

  • Connect, build, and drive the Thrive productivity community 

  • Leverage the SPACE developer productivity framework

  • Play a crucial role in enabling and driving change by partnering with engineering leaders and developers from across the company.

  • You’ll be establishing companywide communities to facilitate learning and accelerating change.

  • Partner with executives, engineering leaders and developers on initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving enterprise projects including interactions with leadership 

  • 5+ years of Program Management experience.  

  • 5+ years of cross team collaboration and project execution capabilities 

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people 

  • Experience with engineering systems is a large plus. 

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
