The Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power BI) is a rocket ship fueled by organizations across the globe investing in low-code/no-code development to accelerate their digital transformation ambitions. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to join our team. Responsibilities

  • Recruit and grow a diverse team of Engineers.

  • Collaborate with your peers to deliver end-to-end systems and experiences.

  • Investigate and prototype new technologies and frameworks leveraging the Business Applications Platform and AI models.

  • Design, implement, and test your code

  • Ensure availability, latency, scalability needs addressed by engineering reliability into software and systems.

  • Focus on operability of the service including security, privacy, resiliency, Business Continuity & disaster recovery.

  • Contribute to team-wide infrastructure investments.

  • Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services or systems.

  • Maintain an unwavering focus on Quality of Service. Execute with high accountability.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience

  • 6+ years of industry experience successfully shipping services or building web experiences

  • 3+ years of experience with Azure or any cloud platform equivalent

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as React/Redux and TypeScript.

  • Experience building scalable applications and services with Azure or other scalable cloud platforms with robust performance, resiliency, telemetry, and security.

  • Experience leading complex software projects over multiple releases covering all stages of the product/service lifecycle.

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
